Hi Newport Church Family,

We pray that you are experiencing God’s goodness, favor and provision!

Miracle May

Tomorrow is the first day of May, which for many years has been a month when we as a church have placed a special focus on God’s supernatural and miraculous power.

We would love to have you join us in a month of faith, prayer and expectation as we look to God to enter our natural world with His supernatural power.

Whatever is happening in our lives, whether it’s our cry for salvation for our loved ones, physical healing, relational restoration, financial provision, release from destructive habits or anything that is beyond our natural ability to do, God is not only able but willing to act on our behalf.

The Power of Engaging our Focus

Of course God can work miracles on any day of the year but there is something powerful about focus!

Whenever Jesus performed miracles He engaged people’s focus. He said to the man with the withered hand, “stretch out your arm,” He asked the blind man a question, “what would you like Me to do for you?” He told the disciples to bring Him the only loaves and fish that they could find in the crowd, before He blessed them and asked the disciples to distribute them, while a miracle of multiplication took place in their hands!

As we engage our focus on Jesus this month, we are going to see God work in supernatural ways, because Jesus said,

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” Matt 7:7 NLT

Faith is the Key

Jesus said that faith is the key to unlocking the miraculous power of God.

“I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” Matt 17:20

How much faith do we need?

Even faith as small as a mustard seed is enough for God to move supernaturally in our circumstances!

That means we all have enough faith, we just have to engage our faith and speak words of faith and life into our situation.

Whatever is lifeless can come to life , whatever is empty can be filled, whatever is irreparable can be repaired, whatever is incurable can be cured and  whatever is out of alignment with God’s will for our lives body, soul and spirit can be realigned through our faith in God’s infinite power!

Faith comes by Hearing

When the disciples asked Jesus to increase their faith, He told them two stories. Luke records these in the seventeenth chapter of his gospel.

Firstly the story about having faith as a grain of mustard seed, and then a story about expressing our faith through sacrificial service of God in His Kingdom purpose.

Jesus was highlighting that our faith grows by hearing God’s word and by serving Him faithfully!

Paul echoes this truth with these words,

“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.’ Romans 10:17

As we embark on a month of asking God and believing for miracles, let’s fill our hearts with God’s word through our personal bible reading and also as we gather together in God’s House each week to open His word.

This month I will be starting a new series entitled, “With God All things are Possible,” and I am confident that as we open God’s word together we will grow in our faith and expectation that God’s will do what only He can do!

Miracle May Cards

Throughout the month of May, we will have miracle cards available at church for you to write down your Miracle.

There is something powerful about writing out our vision and prayer and your card will be a point of connection and faith as we pray throughout the month for God to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ever ask or imagine.

We encourage you to share these cards with your family and friends and to let them know that we will be praying for them throughout the week and in our services.

We will also be setting aside a special moment in our services to combine our faith and to pray for miracles together.

If you or those in your world have a prayer request or praise report, please email them to more@newportchurch.com we would love to hear from you.

Daily Devotional Thought

Every morning in May we will be posting a daily devotional thought on our various social media platforms and we encourage you to take a moment at the beginning of each day to reflect on these as we embark on each new day.

Feel free to share these posts with your family and friends, they are designed to uplift and inspire us all to believe for great things together!

The Miracle is in the Seed

Jesus told His disciples that the miracle is in the mustard seed of faith, and He also taught them that our giving is like seed that God promises to multiply back to us in supernatural measure!

Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”    Luke 6:38 NL

In our current environment of economic inflation, let’s never forget that the key to our financial miracle is in the seed we sow.

In times of famine our natural tendency is to hold back, but when we live by the principles of God’s kingdom, we live by a higher law and God promises us,

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” Malachi 3:10 NIV

If you would like to give your donation, tithe or offering now, you can do so by clicking here.

We are praying and believing with you for financial miracles in your life and home.

Let’s prime the pump with our giving, sow our seed and watch God do what He promises to do!

We can’t wait to see you tomorrow on the first Sunday of Miracle May.

If you haven’t joined us in person for a while, what a great Sunday to do so. Come early for a great cup of hand crafted coffee!

We love and appreciate you all greatly,
